Jean Long Purcell, 98, of Orange, died at Dogwood Village of Orange County on Wednesday, February 16, 2011.
Ms. Purcell was retired Chief of the Richmond Times Dispatch Orange Bureau and previously served as a correspondent to the Richmond News Leader, The Charlottesville Daily Progress, and several radio and television stations.
Ms. Purcell was born on February 3, 1913, in Richmond. She was married to the late Henry H. Purcell.
Ms. Purcell is survived by two sons, H. Harwood Purcell and his wife, Frances, and Thomas M. Purcell and his wife, Catherine, all of Orange; five grandchildren, Ned and Clayton Purcell of Orange, Courtenay Palaski of Los Angeles, Sara Perine of Philadelphia and Margaret Purcell of Nashville. Three great grandchildren also survive.

Dawn Marie Metten - 42 Middletown, NJ passed away peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at her home, with her family at her side. She was born Dawn Marie Mulligan on Oct. 9, 1968 in Brooklyn, N.Y., where she grew up. In 1995, she moved to Fords with her family, and in 2007 settled in Middletown.
Dawn is survived by her devoted and beloved husband of 18 years, Bernard C. Metten; her loving children, Daniel E. and Katelyn M. Metten; and her dear mother, Deborah Purcell.

Robert Edward “Bob” Connolly of Greenland, NH died peacefully, Saturday, Feb, 12, 2011 at home surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was born October 19, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Thomas J. Connolly and Sarah Purcell Connolly.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, DeLyn of Greenland, the love of his life; two daughters, MaryAnn Fenton and her husband David and Heather Nelson and husband Vincent of New Jersey; brothers Joseph and John Connolly; sisters Betty Bianco and Sarah Croson.

Marjorie Williams Purcell 89, of Newark, DE b.Winston-Salem, NC Oct 15, 1921, d. Feb 15, 2011. Marjorie was the daughter of the late Coy R. and Maisie Bomberger Williams. She is survived by a daughter, Leslie Anne Purcell of Ventura, CA and two sons, Jeffrey W. Purcell and wife Karen of Cambridge, MA, and Coy W. Purcell and wife Nancy of Narberth, PA.She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Ralph E. Purcell who died in 1994 and her brother Eugene B. Williams.

Sharon Ann MacDiarmid 61, of Halifax passed away February 12, 2011 at the QE II Victoria General with friends at her side. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Eva Purcell. Sharon was a graduate of the Convent of the Sacred Heart. She graduated from Saint Mary's University with her BA (1971) and BEd (1972). She taught for 8 years in elementary schools in Halifax. She then went on to begin her 24 year career at the Sacred Heart School of Halifax, as the beloved librarian. Sharon is survived her son Colin MacDiarmid, of Halifax and close friend Densie Gaudet.

Anna Mae Purcell, 97, of Ingleside, Texas, formerly of Peoria, IL died Dec. 15, 2010.
Anna Mae was born Aug. 2, 1913, to Edward and A. Edith (nee Marston) Schwartz. She married Carl R. Purcell on Oct. 27, 1934. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1996.
Surviving are a sister, Velma Persich of Chillicothe, IL; daughter, Ann “Áine” Mac Sithigh of Rolla, Mo.; son, Carl “Scoop” Purcell of Ingleside, Tx. She was buried beside her beloved Carl in Chillicothe City Cemetery.

John Harold Bridges, 73, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011. He was a native of Gloucester and had been a resident of Smithfield for the last 23 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Purcell Reeves; father, Henry Alvin Bridges; and brother, William A. Bridges.Survivors include his wife of more than 30 years, Carole Kaiser Bridges; children, Diane Clark Stockton of Calif., Steven P. Clark (Susan) of Newport News, Robert D. Clark (Kristen) of Hampton, Patricia Clark Shoaf of Morgantown, W.Va., David K. Bridges (Joanne) of Newport News and Sean C. Bridges (Beth) of Suffolk; sisters, Elizabeth A. Robbins of Hayes and Ada Marie Lughart (Dick) of Deltaville; brother, Vernon L. Bridges (Stella) of Florence, Ariz.

Mary Jane Purcell, 94, a long-time resident of Lost Tree Village, died on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at her home in North Palm Beach. Jane was born on July 24, 1915 in St. Louis, MO. She attended Miami University in Oxford, OH, where she met her husband, Henry W. Purcell. Mr. Purcell died in 1997, after 60 years of marriage.

Cleo Purcell Horne, 93, of Tucker, KY, died February 1, 2011. Born October 15, 1917 in Wayne County, daughter of Warner and Mollie Dent Purcell, she was preceded in death by husband Elmer Horne, six brothers and two sisters. She is survived by daughters Lana (Thomas) Drenon and Gail (Pat) Aldridge; son Glen (Dana) Horne. She is survived by her son, Grant Purcell and his wife, Nancy.

Born July 30, 1953 in Sturgis, son of the late Charles E. and Marilyn Jane (Bronstetter) Purcell, he is survived by daughter Jeanie (Kevin) Seifert; sons Travis (Crystal) Smith and Charles R.
