My Purcells from Drumcliffe immigrated to Queensland, Australia. Andrew with his wife Bridget Scanlon and family on the 'John Fielden' in 1853 and Thomas with his wife Mary Considine and family on the 'Earl Russell' in 1864.Andrew and Thomas Purcell were the sons of Thomas Purcell and Mary (or Bridget) Flannery. It is my understanding that some of their siblings went to the US as they maintained contact with relatives in the US, especially California, for many years. Unfortunately all contact and information has been lost. I would appreciate any help with my family history research and am happy to share th einformation I have on the Australian Purcells.
