Hi Barbara, I am presently away from home but am likely to have some info for you - having compiled much data on the PURCELLs of Australasia. Will be able to access my database mid August. Gerry PURCELL (Tauranga, NZ) |

Hi Barbara, Dont have any record of Ellen (Fitzgerald)PURCELL arriving in Tasmania c.1850. Doesn't mean she didn't - just I dont have that record. However I have a William Patrick PURCELL b.17Mar1845 in Cork, IRE, d. 13Mar1879 in Meredith, Victoria, Australia. He was married (1867) to Jessie Elizabeth BAINBRIDGE in Victoria. They had eight (maybe nine) children. This could be your man as there was a lot of movement between Tasmania and Victoria. Dont have William Patrick's parentage but will do some more research.
