Looking to find ancestors of Hiram (or Hyram) Purcell (or Pursell). b.1799 d.1878. Wifes: Eleanor (Elly) Jones and Lavenia Partheny Williams. He was born in NC, but lived in Wilson County, TN. Do these sound familiar to anyone? Thanks! glenda pursell clark

Hiram Pursell's mother is said to have been Jane Pursley who is shown as a widow in the 1820 Wilson County, TN census. Hiram "Pursley" married Elly Jones in Wilson Co., TN in the early 1820's. They had a son named Henry W. Purcell who was born c 1825 and a daughter. After Elly died, Hiram Purcell married Luvinia Partheney Williams who was born in 1813 in TN. Their children were Francis Marion Purcell, Luvina Paralee Purcell, Levi and Hiram. Both Henry W. And Francis (Frank) went to Marion Co., IL when they left TN. Hiram Purcell, Sr. is buried in Wilson Co., TN. His son, Henry W. is called White Purcell, Henry Whitehead Purcell and Whittier Purcell in various records.
