Purcell Family of America

An association to help those trace the Purcell family line

I am looking for information on my branch of the Purcell family:

My grandmother was Mary Agnes Purcell m. John Patrick Courtney in Bangor, Penobscot, Maine

ggfather: Patrick Edward Purcell m. Katherine Anne Clancy (I've been told, but have not proven this.) Katherine Anne was supposedly from the Chatham N.B. area

gggfather: Patrick Purcell (possibly from Ireland to Newfoundland?) m. Ann Cavanaugh (again, I've been told but not proven)

Then it gets dicy in terms of what may be reality (in other words the following are more "leap of faith" assumptions, none are proven (even the male lines)):

ggggfather: Mathias Purcell (possibly from Tiperary, near parish of Borris, near Ossory (Ussory?) which is just outside of Roscrea; possibly lived in Newfoundland? and then moved to Antigonish, N.S.?

Hello Purcells [cousins hopefully] in Maine,

I am a Purcell born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. I am working on the genealogy of Mathias Purcell of Borrish Parish Tipperary, Ireland who came to Nova Scotia via Newfoundland. I am a direct descendent of Edmund Purcell, son of Mathias and brother of a "Patrick Purcell" who married an Ann Cavanaugh. They supposedly moved to the Province of Prince Edward Island, Canada and then to the state of Maine, USA. I have been hoping to connect with descendants of Patrick because I actually thought that the line had died out. P. J. Purcell

Hello ppurcell...

I am the great-great-grandson of Patrick Purcell and Ann Cavanaugh. You may reach me at my email: stinkahny@yahoo.com. I now live in New York State, but my mother still lives in the Bangor, ME, area.

Hello ME Purcells: There is a problem sending an email from my end. Will you please send a response to me at: ppurcell@nrcan.gc.ca.

I am looking forward to connecting with you. Thanks.
